From The New Normal: Keep The Faith – Encouragement or Cliche?

Just this week, months of prayers for a friend of mine who had strayed away in his relationship with God paid off. I never stopped praying for this friend, even when it seemed like the answers to the prayers had to be as far away as they could be. I never gave up on him, because I know that God never gave up on him either.

The phrase “keep the faith” is a bit of a church cliche, kind of like something you’d expect to see on a cheesy motivational poster on the wall in a church classroom or a hideous t-shirt on display in a Christian bookstore. But the funny thing about cliches is that they contain truth in them – that’s why we use them.
