Those who know me know that I’ve been a Droid guy for some time now. As long as I’ve had a Droid, I’ve been in love with the Android system and with what these phones can do. I’m on my second Droid now, the Samsung Droid Charge, and up until the past week or so I’ve loved it.
I’m also a bit of an Apple guy. Of course I’ve put my iPod to plenty of use, and I do nearly all my writing on my MacBook Pro. But because of my Droid love, I’ve been pretty well able to resist making the switch to an iPhone.
Until now. Last week, I met the iPhone 4S. The new features of the new iPhone seem to bring together the great things that Apple has to offer with the best features of the Android system. The notifications bar provides instant…well…notification of texts, emails, appointments, and more. The iPhone 4S’ new Siri feature takes the speech-to-text concept from the Droid and makes it even better. I’ve enjoyed playing with Siri on our iPhone 4S demo here in the store; it’s great fun and truly helpful.
So, what does that mean? The more I think about it, and the more I play with the phone, the more I’m convinced I’m going to drink the iPhone 4S Kool-Aid. My upgrade is coming this January…who knows what I’ll wind up doing?
