4 and 20 Blackbirds in concert

Tonight at the local coffeehouse owned by friends of mine from church, I had the privilege and pleasure of seeing 4 and 20 Blackbirds in concert. 4 and 20 Blackbirds are Randy & Mackenzie Chester. I’ve known Mackenzie for a long time; she and I served together at camp years ago, and she’s played events and Eastridge solo and with Randy a few times…also, she’s Monica Miller’s sister. I have a CD by the band Randy was in back in the late ’90s. Anyway, they played two incredible sets of their artsy, folksy, God-inspired music with a couple of Beatles covers thrown in for good measure. Hopefully, they can come back to Covington soon.

Check them out!

  1. Couldn’t get the link to work, so googled them and found a page of theirs… says at the top that they’re in Demorest, Ga. Small world! I went college at Piedmont up there!

  2. Wow. small world indeed! The site must be a bit outdated, because Mackenzie told me last night that they’re in Clarkesville now.

  3. Yeah, there’s probably not too much happening in good old Demorest. It’s about the size of Mansfield. Clarkesville is right next door and is almost the size of Covington, at least! 🙂
    Very cool though.
